North Kansas City Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to join the Orthopedic/Med-Surg Trauma Unit in a dynamic, supportive environment where patient care matters. You’ll work under a Nurse Director/Patient Care Supervisor and contribute to an interdisciplinary team focused on excellence.
Responsibilities include providing holistic nursing care based on the nursing process, collaborating with over 40 orthopedic surgeons and residents, and helping shape care plans and policies for our trauma

With cutting-edge procedures, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to excellence, we offer a workplace where you’ll be challenged, supported, and inspired every day. We perform 80-100 elective procedures per week, including total hip and knee replacements, spinal fusions, discectomies, shoulder replacements, and more. We also care for trauma patients in their med/surg recovery phase, treating injuries from motor vehicle accidents, falls, gunshot wounds, and other emergencies. We hold Advanced Certification in Total Hip and Knee Joint Replacement through The Joint Commission and are actively pursuing Advanced Certification for Spine Surgery. Supportive Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights, with dedicated techs for patient support and charge nurses who are not in staffing. Our nurses work directly with 40+ orthopedic surgeons and their residents, playing an integral role in shaping patient care plans and policies. SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nurse Director/Patient Care Supervisor/Charge Nurse, patients and families are provided competent holistic care based on nursing process.
One year medical/surgical experience preferred
One year orthopedic nursing experience preferred.
Basic computer skills
Required: RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association)
Required: Associates - Nursing, Preferred: Bachelors - Nursing
