Job summary

Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services seeks a staff member to perform pre-operative physical assessments for surgical patients, including vital signs, lung and heart auscultation, and head-to-toe evaluation, and to coordinate transportation to the surgical holding area.

You will review pre-operative history, complete the assessment flow chart, communicate with OR staff about transfers, and conduct hand-offs to ensure patient safety.

Job description

HOURS & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: Full Time position, 40 hours per week; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

General Summary

Pre-operative physical assessment of the surgical patient to include, but not limited to, vital signs, head to toe assessment including auscultation of lungs, heart sounds, abdominal, circulation and peripheral I.V. starts. Review pre-op history and complete assessment flow chart. Physical transportation of patient via wheelchair or cart to surgical holding area.
