Job summary

Digestive Health Specialists, P.A. in Winston-Salem is seeking a full-time LPN or RN to join our gastroenterology team. The Endoscopy Nurse collaborates with physicians and anesthesia providers to determine patient needs during procedures and to ensure safe, high-quality nursing care.

No weekends, nights or on-call duties. Requires 1-2 years in med-surg or endoscopy, current BLS, NC nursing license (compact preferred), ACLS within one year, and clean driving record with transportation to

• Experience in endoscopy nursing or med-surg nursing preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and anesthesia staff to determine patient needs during endoscopy.
• Provide nursing care, document actions, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Help maintain daily schedule and support efficient patient services.
• Assist with orientation and training of Endoscopy staff.
• Travel to multiple locations as required; valid NC driver’s license and insurance.

No weekends, nights or call.Job Description Summary:The Endoscopy Nurse works collaboratively with the physician and the anesthesia health care providers to determine patient needs during endoscopic procedures. The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for patient care, documents and evaluates the effectiveness of nursing actions and ensures a safe environment of care.The Nurse will :Facilitate quality patient care and assist professional and/or nursing staff in performing Endoscopy procedures when needed.Work to increase the department’s ability to effectively maintain the daily schedule along with safe and appropriate patient services.Must possess appropriate personality characteristics to serve patients and families in a positive, professional, helpful manner.This position requires the ability and means to travel to various locations including, but not limited to other sites. Must provide proof of automobile insurance.Assist with orientation and training of Endoscopy staff.Job Eligibility Requirements:Current BLS certificationMust have 1-2 years in patient medical-surgical or Endoscopy experience.Willing to obtain ACLS certification within one year of hire.Holds the following certifications without restrictions:Current North Carolina Nurse LicenseCurrent Compact State License acceptable in NCLanguage - Must be able to read and write English at high school level. Must communicate effectively. Must be able to read numbers and do basic math calculations.Transportation – Must have transportation, current NC Driver’s License without restrictions and vehicle insurance.1 Year Med Surg Experience preferred
