Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Circulating Staff Nurse (RN) for full-time day shifts in Los Angeles. This role emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care and requires coordination within the OR team to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.

Reporting to the Clinical Unit Supervisor of Perioperative Nursing, the Circulating Nurse will apply the Watson Model of Care and oversee care for a defined patient group. BSN preferred; BLS/ACLS required; Spanish bilinguals welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of surgical services nursing experience, or 2 years as a surgical tech with 1 year nursing in acute care.
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, individualized patient/family centered care.
• Organize, plan, direct, and coordinate perioperative nursing care.
• Maintain shift accountability in the Circulating Staff Nurse role.
• Apply the Watson Model of Care to patient care.

The Circulating Staff Nurse is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for excellence in the clinical practice of nursing and the management of patient care. Reporting to the Clinical Unit Supervisor of Perioperative Nursing, the Circulating Staff Nurse has shift accountability for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient/family centered care based on the Watson Model of Care for a defined group of patients, including the identification and demonstration of abilities to meet special needs and considerations of Age and Population Specific awareness.

Qualifications

• Education
• Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred.
• Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Surgical Services nursing or two (2) years of surgical tech in acute care setting with at least one (1) year of nursing experience in acute care setting or completion of periop training program (AORN or similar) with 2 years acute care experience.
