Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and holds a current Registered Nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board.
- Current and active CPR certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years OR experience.
- Cognitive skills relevant to the position.

Position Summary
The Operating Room Circulator Nurse provides care and support to patients before, during, and after surgery. They assist surgeons and the surgical team in their tasks.
Position Responsibilities
Operating Room Nurses provide direct, individualized nursing care based on scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care needs pre-, intra-, and post-surgery.
- Providing nursing care during surgical procedures.
- Offering comfort and support for pre-operative patients.
- Participating in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
- Carrying out physician orders, administering medications, applying dressings, and monitoring vital signs.
- Assisting physicians during procedures.
- Maintaining aseptic techniques and monitoring for breaches.
- Coordinating OR sterility, cleanliness, and equipment readiness.
- Handling specimens properly.
- Serving as the primary coordinator among disciplines for patient care.
- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions using documentation systems.
- Ensuring correct patient and procedure are performed.
- Providing basic bedside care and responding to life-saving situations.
- Recording care information accurately and timely.
- Preparing OR for procedures, assisting in patient positioning, and safety.
- Handling specimens and ensuring asepsis standards.
- Monitoring equipment functionality during surgery.
- Managing patient documentation and inventory of surgical items.
- Assisting in controlling bleeding, providing wound exposure, and suturing post-surgery.
- Floating among clinical services as qualified.
- Providing age- and culturally-appropriate care.
- Mentoring new staff and following safety precautions.
