Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking an experienced RN Operating Room Circulator to join our team in Texas. The role emphasizes patient safety, procedure support, and collaboration within a fast-paced surgical setting.

Requirements include a current RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS upon hire or within specified timelines, and a minimum of two years perioperative experience. CNOR and BSN are preferred. PACU experience is not applicable to this role.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced RN Operating Room Circulator to join our team. This role requires expertise in the surgical environment, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and support during procedures. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality care and will thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary nurse in the operating room, managing the surgical environment.
• Coordinate and facilitate effective communication among the surgical team.
• Monitor patient safety and ensure adherence to protocols and standards.
• Prepare surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring everything is available and sterile before procedures.
• Assist with the education and training of new staff and nursing students as needed.

Schedule

This position requires availability for an 08:00 AM to 05:00 AM shift, with on-call duties as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• A minimum of two years of previous perioperative experience is required.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) is preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Experience in PACU or Recovery is not applicable for this role.
