Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, TX is hiring a Registered Nurse focused on patient safety. This Full Time role requires a BSN and Texas RN license, with ACLS training within 12 months. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes within legal and policy frameworks.

The position entails 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM shifts with potential call; a suite of certifications is preferred. A bonus up to $45,000 is available for eligible new hires.

Job Description

The RN, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function within the parameters of the legal scope of practice and in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of the employing health care institution or practice setting. The RN functions under his or her own license and assumes accountability and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and their families according to the standards of nursing practice. The RN demonstrates responsibility for continued competence in nursing practice, and develops insight through reflection, self-analysis, self-care, and lifelong learning.

Shift and Schedule

Full Time

6:30 AM – 3:00 PM with call

Essential Functions/Performance Expectations

• Complete a comprehensive assessment. This includes the initial and ongoing, extensive collection, analysis and interpretation of data.
• Synthesize the data collected during the comprehensive assessment to identify problems, make nursing diagnoses, and to formulate goals, teaching plans and outcomes.
• Implement the plan of care. The RN may begin, deliver, assign or delegate certain interventions within the plan of care for patients within legal, ethical, and regulatory parameters and in consideration of health restoration, disease prevention, wellness, and promotion of healthy lifestyles.
• Evaluate and report patient outcomes and responses to therapeutic interventions in comparison to benchmarks from evidence‑based practice and research findings, and plan any follow‑up care and referrals.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science (BSN) Degree in Nursing required. If nurse does not have a BSN upon hire, the nurse must commit to enter a BSN program within two years of employment and complete the BSN program within five years.
• Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification in area of specialty (e.g., CEN, CPEN, CCRN, CNOR) preferred.
• ACLS required within 12 months of date of employment in the O.R.

• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non‑clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted‑lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.

Bonus

Up to $45,000. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience. Bonus is only applicable to new hires. Please inquire for details.

Not eligible for current employees or returning employees within one year of separation. Bonus is not eligible for if hired through a staffing agency.
