Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway, TX, seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN shifts. The role supports 6 OR suites, 2 ENDO suites, and pain procedure room, focusing on Neuro, Spine, Orthopedic and General cases with state-of-the-art equipment including Mazor Robot and DaVinci Robot.

After-hours emergencies only on weekends. As a licensed RN, you will coordinate patient care per the Texas Nursing Practice Act, contribute to care planning, and ensure patient safety and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or 2 years of work experience beyond minimum qualification.
• Major in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.

Facility: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Lakeway, TX

Department: Operating Room

Status: PRN - 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Can choose between working 4 shifts a month or taking 4 call shifts per month)

Min of 3 yrs RN OR exp for PRN

We have 6 OR suites, 2 ENDO suites and 1 room for pain procedures.

We do mainly Neuro, Spine, Ortho and General cases.

We have state of the art Neuro equipment including Stealth Navigation, Mazor Robot and several "O"arms for imaging.

We also have a Davinci Robot for general and urology cases.

Our OR case volume usually runs 10 -20 cases a day.

We do emergencies only after hours and on the weekends

Job Summary

The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional. The RN uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized care plan and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs. The RN helps patients transition through healthcare without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Clinical Judgment: Using clinical reasoning, conducts accurate assessments according to standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing care plan. Modifies plan to meet outcomes.


• Clinical Inquiry: Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including nursing indicators. Helps evidence-based practice changes through research and learning. Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
