Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking an RN leader to deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process. The role emphasizes delegation, accountability, and collaboration within a diverse patient population.

You will support unit and department goals while maintaining professional practice standards. Requirements include an RN license and BLS; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with clinical specialty certification a plus.

This job acts a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions; maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives and demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports the company's philosophy of nursing. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
