Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a part-time Neonatal/ Labor and Delivery RN to provide newborn care during deliveries at our Mansfield, Texas location. The role involves night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am) or day shifts (7:00am – 7:00pm) and requires an RN license, BLS, and NRP certification, with Neonatal Med certification preferred.

Responsibilities include assisting with deliveries, neonatal resuscitation, assessments of obstetrical patients, reporting issues to physicians promptly, and

Qualifications

• 1+ labor and delivery or postpartum nursing experience [Preferred]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Required]
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) [Preferred]

Responsibilities

• Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery.
• Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies.
• Demonstrate assessment skills in obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues.
• Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly.
• Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers.
• Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups. Document all care activities accurately, including band identification numbers in medical records.
