Position Overview

Part Time, 24 Hours/Week, 7p-7:30a

Responsibilities

Guided by knowledge of the basic principles of nursing based on the biological, physical, and psycho‑social sciences, the RN applies judgment supported by evidence and nursing theory in the delivery of care. The RN provides, coordinates, and/or delegates nursing care and manages resources to attain, maintain, and restore optimum health for patients, families, and the community.

Formal Education Required
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but are required to obtain a BSN within three (3) years of employment
  • Graduate of a program of professional nursing accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  • Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio
Experience and Training Required
  • PRN RN’s must have at least one year of recent experience in the area of practice.
  • One year of related RN experience is required for weekend option positions.
  • Additional related previous experience and/or preparation may be required for specialty units.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
  • Requires exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment, such as risk of falls and strains.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support certification; new nurses in critical care, progressive care, medical telemetry, PACU, or ED must complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support within the first six months. Experienced RNs hired into areas requiring ACLS are expected to have an ACLS certification upon hire or complete it within six weeks.
Population Specific Competency
  • Additional education or certifications may be required for specialty areas (e.g., PALS, NIH, Non‑Violet Crisis Intervention).
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients/customers, respecting their self‑respect, dignity, and diversity.
Physical Demands
  • Heavy: Occasionally exerts 50–100 pounds of force; frequently 25–50 pounds; continuously 10–20 pounds to move objects.

Compensation
