Job summary

Carle Health in Urbana, IL is seeking an RN for North Tower 11 OB/Post Partum/Mother. Weekend night shifts are Friday and Saturday; you will be scheduled on a weekend pattern by the night shift nurse scheduler. RN with >1 year OB experience or L&D is required.

You may be asked to cover 2 Sunday night shifts per 6 weeks. The role focuses on caring for new mothers and their infants, teaching post-delivery self-care and infant care.

Qualifications

  • RN license in Illinois with IDFPR registration.
  • OB/L&D experience preferred; neonatal care basics expected.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nursing care per unit standards and documents in EMR.
  • Assesses patients on admission and develops care plans with family input.
  • Maintains safety and reports hazards or incidents.
  • Collaborates with healthcare team to educate parents post-delivery.
  • Administers medications per physician orders and monitors infant care.

On North Tower 11, you get to help new mother’s and their infants! Prepare parents on how to care for themselves after delivery and for their baby. If education is your thing, so is North Tower 11.

Common Diagnosis:

Pregnancy, Preeclampsia, Hypertension in Pregnancy, Respiratory Distress in the Newborn, Hyperbilirubinemia, ABO Incompatibility, Vaginal Delivery, Cesarean Deliveries

SPECIAL SKILLS:

IV insertion and maintenance, foley insertion, NG tube insertion, lab draws on infants, hearing screens, metabolic newborn screening, congenital cardia heart defect screening, baths.

Responsibilities

Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confere with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $38.93per hour - $63.35per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health.
