Job summary

Eastern Health Group is seeking a Weekend RN Supervisor to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards while maintaining quality care.

Shifts include 8- and 12-hour options; you will collaborate with the healthcare team, manage medications, monitor patient status, participate in discharge planning, and supervise staff to uphold high compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• BLS certification.
• CPR certification (First aid)
• Associates degree in nursing required.
• Excellent staff training and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer medications; document administration and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients on procedures and care.
• Record vital signs and medical information accurately.
• Monitor equipment and interpret displays; take action as needed.
• Assist with discharge planning and post-care follow-up.
• Supervise nursing staff and assistive personnel to ensure quality care.

Job Description

Summary: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to always maintain the highest degree of quality care.

Shift Details

All shifts available, 8 hour and 12 hours

Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, starts IVs
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms
• Supervision of support staff and licensed nurse

Requirements/Qualifications

• Current Virginia RN license
• Current BLS certification
