Ivory Wellness Center is seeking an RN Nursing Supervisor to coordinate total resident care across units. The role requires leadership, bedside nursing skills, and the ability to direct shifts and supervise staff. This position offers diverse shifts and benefits as described.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current RN license.
• Experience in the nursing field.
• Supervisory experience in long-term care is required.

Responsibilities

• Verify daily staffing and redistribution as needed.
• Collaborate with charge nurses daily on resident care and needs.
• Make rounds to assess resident condition, focusing on critically ill.
• Ensure care plans are followed for each resident.
• Perform medication passes and direct resident care as needed.
• Participate in resident care committee meetings.
• Reinforce the training and orientation of nursing staff.
• Respond to emergencies throughout shift.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for residents and staff.
• Ensure building security during evenings and night hours.
• Review incident and investigation reports for accuracy.
• Monitor meal service to ensure nutrition adequacy.
• Assist in nursing facility Quality Improvement program.
• Provide high-quality, compassionate service to residents and families.
• Perform other duties as requested.

RATE: Up to $50- $55 Per Hour

Registered Nurse (RN) SupervisorPOSITION SUMMARY:

This employee has the responsibility for coordination of total resident care. RN Nursing Supervisor performs responsible supervisory and professional work in directing and coordinating all nursing units. The individual must have had advanced training and broad nursing experience including supervisory duties. The work requires administrative ability, knowledge of training techniques, ability to adapt techniques and procedures in accordance with unusual situations, and the exercise of initiative and good judgment. The work is carried out according to standards of professional nursing practices, facility policies, rules and regulations, and State and Federal regulations.

Registered Nurse (RN) SupervisorRESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. 1 Verifies daily staffing and redistribution, as necessary;
2. 2 Collaborates with all charge nurses daily, to exchange information regarding resident care, resident condition and all matters affecting resident well-being (i.e. admissions, discharges, transfers, out of or within the building), makes recommendations regarding nursing process, and communicates concerns to supervisors of other departments;
3. 3 Makes rounds, morning and night, as time allows, to assess residents condition, giving special attention to critically ill residents;
4. 4 Ensures that the individual nursing care plan is followed for each resident;
5. 5 Performs medication passes and/or direct resident care as needed;
6. 6 Participates in resident care committee meetings;
7. 7 Reinforces the training and orientation of nursing personnel and provides positive reinforcement;
8. 8 Answers any/all emergencies throughout the shift (i.e., change of resident condition or pronouncement of death);
9. 9 Assists in assuring a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors;
10. 10 Assures that the building is secure during the evening and night hours by checking doors and alarms according to nursing facility protocols;
11. 11 Reviews incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness;
12. 12 Monitors meal service on the units and in the dining areas to identify issues requiring intervention and to assure resident meal satisfaction and nutritional adequacy;
13. 13 Assists in development and implementation of nursing facility Quality Improvement Program;
14. 14 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
15. 15 Performs other duties as requested.

Registered Nurse (RN) SupervisorSPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/ VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. 1 The RN Nursing Supervisor must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and there must be current registration with the professional board of nurse examiners of the State.
2. 2 Experience in the nursing field.
3. 3 Supervisory experience in long term care is required.

8. 8 Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions of a technical nature.
9. 9 Must be able to recognize and identify symptoms and to make decisions quickly in emergencies.
10. 10 Must be able to train subordinates in work procedures and to organize and direct training carried out by members of the staff.
11. 11 Must possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
12. 12 Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
