Frederick Health Hospital offers a Nurse Graduate Program designed for new graduates. The program lasts up to six months and is not benefits eligible. After orientation, you will be placed in open RN positions within the hospital system.
The role includes rotating day/night shifts (3 twelve-hour shifts per week), floating within the hospital with a preceptor, and a 12–16 week orientation curriculum with potential extension by mutual agreement.
The Nurse Graduate Program is a temporary position lasting no longer than six (6) months and is not benefits eligible. After completing this program/orientation, Pipeline RNs will be placed in open RN positions within the organization.
Schedule:
(3) 12 hr shifts per week (72 hrs/pay period) - Day/ night rotation with alt. weekends
Frederick Health Hospital is committed to nursing excellence. To that end, we understand the need to nurture and assist new nurses as they develop and refine their clinical skills and critical thinking. The Nurse Graduate Program has been initiated within the Nursing Resources Department (Float Pool) to provide an opportunity for new nursing graduates to join Frederick Health Hospital and prepare for job openings within the system. Nursing graduates will work alongside and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Preceptor throughout the entire orientation to enhance clinical skills.
The orientation consists of a 12-16 week curriculum with an opportunity for extension if mutually agreed by the clinical preceptors and manager.
Schedules will be based on the assigned clinical preceptor.
Candidates should be prepared to float throughout the hospital with their preceptor.
Clinical schedules should always follow the clinical preceptor work schedule and offer 32-40 hours per week of proctored clinical experience.
Job Summary

Independently provides patient care using the nursing process and performs leadership and teaching duties necessary that supports effective patient care. Supports and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Functions within the limits of the State and Federal licensing, regulatory bodies and hospital policies.

The following certifications are required for the nursing units specified. Each certification must be completed within 1 year of hire.
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups * This would be based on designated patient population for each nursing department.
Physical Demands:
Medium-Heavy Work – Lifting up to 100 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes) and/or carrying up to 50 pounds while walking. Pushing or pulling up to 115 pounds infrequently or greater than 115 pounds occasionally (no more than once per hour).

Awkward postures include repeated or prolonged reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, working overhead with your hands or arms, or holding fixed positions.
Contact Stress: Pressing the body hard on sharp edges can result in placing too much pressure on nerves, tendons, and blood vessels. For example, using the palm of your hand to hit or stick objects can increase risk of musculoskeletal disorders.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.
Pay range: Hourly rate $36.07 Min -$55.17 Max
