  • One year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications which can be obtained during orientation.
  • Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.

Responsibilities

  • Completes patient admissions process, including nursing assessment.
  • Documents ongoing patient assessments/progress per standards.
  • Medication management – administer medication as prescribed by a physician.
  • Participates as member of interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provides milieu management and unit team leadership.
  • Provides appropriate nursing intervention/documentation in crisis situations.
  • Reports unsafe conditions.
  • Provides age-specific communication, limit setting and interventions.
  • Provides health education to patients and their families.
  • Prepares and adheres to facility patient discharge process.
  • Interacts with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork and demonstrates Service Excellence.
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The RN is responsible for implementing and evaluating patient care on the Adult/Adolescent/Women's units; for providing supervision and guidance for nursing staff members; for assuming responsibilities delegated by the Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Manager, or House Supervisor; for personal and professional growth and development.
