Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - McKinney is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week Seasonal assignment in Neonatal Intensive Care. The role involves nights (7pm–7am) with a focus on high-acuity NICU care in a fast-paced unit.

Eligible nurses may receive shift differentials and a $1,500 completion bonus upon meeting productive time targets. The program starts with orientation and offers potential conversion to FT/PT/PRN roles within Baylor Health.

Qualifications

• Min of 3 years of Level III or higher NICU experience
• RN license required
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days
• Must be a Baylor employee for the 13-week assignment with potential conversion

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop care plans following nursing standards
• Identify patient and family needs and implement/evaluate nursing care plans
• Create safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff
• Manage pain and monitor patient progress to promote recovery

Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1st week of orientation)
$1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time
Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day)
The first week is Monday- Friday orientation.
Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.

Neonatal Intensive Care

Patient Population: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit caring for infants 23 weeks gestation and up
Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:3 depending on acuity
Number of Beds: 13
Department Specifics: Level III Designated NICU, Greater than 95% BSN, 34% Specialty Certified, 200+ admission annually, and active Unit Practice Council

Job Summary

As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
