AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is seeking an RN for NICU nursing on a PRN night shift. The role focuses on holistic, individualized patient assessments and coordination of care across the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include leading staff, administering procedures in Cardiology/IR as needed, documenting patient status, ensuring safety, and discharge planning. Active NICU experience and RN licensure with BLS/NRP are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NICU nursing experience preferred; ongoing professional development encouraged.
• Ability to participate in S.T.A.B.L.E. and C.O.R.E. programs may be required.

Job Description

• Other duties as assigned.
• Leads and mentors staff to ensure optimal performance and competency in care delivery.
• Administers commonly used drugs and solutions in Cardiology and Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures.
• Conducts holistic, individualized assessments of each patient considering age, physiological, and psychological status.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Participates in the transfer of patient information to ensure continued quality care.
• Documents all phases of patient status while in care.
• Develops and maintains positive working relationships within the practice and other departments.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans to ensure effective treatment.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders accurately and promptly.
• Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Communication, delegation, coordination, evaluation, assessment, and interpersonal skills. [Required]
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs. [Required]
• Participation in S.T.A.B.L.E. program for nurses working with newborns preferred; may obtain post‑hire within six months. [Required]
• Participation in C.O.R.E. program for nurses providing primary NICU care; may obtain post‑hire when the program is offered. [Required]
