Job summary

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center seeks an experienced executive to manage day-to-day operations and drive strategic vision for patient care quality at the Los Angeles campus.

Qualifications

Job description

  • Manage the day-to-day operations
  • Provide strategic leadership and implement a shared vision for the medical center
  • Build a culture of trust, communication, information sharing, collaboration, and decisive action
  • Develop and execute strategies differentiating Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in service and clinical experience
  • Integrate quality, service, and efficiency improvements into daily operations
  • Establish goals and objectives and ensure timely follow-through
  • Mentor and develop direct reports and staff
  • Develop and implement programs to improve performance, manage costs, and improve patient care quality
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, regulatory agencies, accreditation, and licensing requirements
  • Manage budgets for capital, payroll, and non-payroll expenses; perform financial and staffing analyses; coordinate account reconciliation and budget reporting
  • Supervise ancillary functions including secretarial support, systems development, communications, and training
  • Provide human resources support, including hiring, salary determination, performance evaluations, and diversity employment programs
  • Facilitate and administer professional development, systems training, and train-the-trainer programs
  • Identify operational and service problems and provide project management support for solutions
  • Produce organizational communications such as newsletters and directories
  • Represent the organizational unit on administrative matters
  • Direct integrated human resources strategies for recruitment, retention, and development
  • Support technology and new product implementation
  • Maintain privacy, confidentiality, ethics, integrity, asset protection, and compliance with applicable laws and policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing a multi-disciplinary staff of professionals, technical and non-exempt employees
  • Demonstrated leadership and an ability to influence and motivate others
  • Demonstrated success in operations improvement efforts, cost management initiatives, and hospital and health system development and management
  • Thorough understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly related to physician relationships as well as nurse and ancillary care givers
  • Experience in managing multiple aspects of health care delivery
  • Thorough knowledge of legal, regulatory, ethical, managerial, organizational requirements, principles and standards of care for hospitals and healthcare systems
  • Experience assessing programs, evaluating organizational needs, designing process changes, and successfully implementing changes to process flow and patient care
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of hospital administration
  • Extensive experience working with physicians and other clinicians; must have examples of successful collaborative efforts
  • Must be able to work in a union environment
  • Current California RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Basic EKG Certification
  • NIH-Stoke Scale Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Current Los Angeles County Fire and Safety Card required within 30 days of hire
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) required within 30 days of hire
  • Master's degree preferred
  • May require minimum of three (3) years’ experience in functional area
