Magnet with Distinction is awarded to the highest-performing Magnet organizations, with only a select few earning this prestigious honor. This recognition reflects our commitment to transformational leadership, professional nursing excellence, innovation, exceptional patient outcomes, and an empowering practice environment where nurses thrive.

The 8th floor at Hillcrest Medical Center treats a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions such as tuberculosis infection, COPD, sickle-cell crisis, cellulitis and diabetes. We offer opportunities for professional growth, continued learning and career development. The wide variety of patients makes working here both rewarding and challenging.

Team members demonstrate self-determination, an ability to adapt to complex and rapidly changing environments, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, provide care that is patient and family centered, participate in shared governance councils and committees, and are committed to contributing to professional practice that generates quality outcomes and improves the Experience of both our patients and our team members. Professional development, life-long learning, and relationship-building are key values.

The Nurse Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs. This program is designed to support Newly Licensed Registered Nurses with a comprehensive transition-to-practice experience through enhanced clinical learning, hands-on skill training and so much more!

Under general supervision, the New Grad RN identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations.
