Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an experienced nurse leader to oversee patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act and applicable standards. You will supervise licensed and ancillary team members, ensure quality patient outcomes, and promote culturally competent care in a diverse environment.

The role requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program with an RN license and BLS certification; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program (required).
• RN license in the practicing state (required).
• BLS certification (required).
• Preferred: specialty certification in a clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for diverse patient groups.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources and collaborates on the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data to evaluate and promote changes for optimal outcomes.
• Supports customer satisfaction and staff morale and professional nursing practice.
• Adapts care to the patient population with respect for privacy and clear explanations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
