Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a New Grad Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU/CVICU) on a full-time night shift (7pm-7am), 36 hours per week, located in New Albany, IN. The RN will provide direct patient care under the supervision of experienced team members and contribute to excellent cardiovascular and critical care support.

New graduates are welcome to apply. Current Indiana RN license or expected graduate status is required, with BLS and ACLS (within 12 months) and NIH Stroke

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license or expected graduate of approved nursing program.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• ACLS certification (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification required, within 10 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct comprehensive nursing care from admission to discharge for patients in the CVU/CVICU.
• Function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

Job Duties:

In this role, the Cardiac Unit RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge. The RN will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit:

The Cardiovascular Intensive (CVU) of Baptist Health Floyd specializes in the care of open-heart surgery patients. CVU is a modern unit providing expert cardiac care with an innovative model of care called the universal bed concept. The team leverages their clinical expertise to care for these cardiac patients on all levels from pre-operative teaching to open-heart recovery, to cardiac ICU care, and to discharge teaching. While cardiac surgery patients are the primary focus, the CVU team also cares for general ICU patients, complex cardiology patients, patients requiring cardiac devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest.
