Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• 1 year RN experience; 3 years related experience preferred.
• VA RN licensure; BLS certification required; Specialty board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates professional nursing practice following UVA standards and nursing model.
• Manages complex and high-risk patient populations; addresses barriers to care.
• Triages referrals; assesses patient needs, goals, and preferences; integrates into care plan.
• Coordinates multidisciplinary care; expedites access to diagnostic testing, surgery, and follow-up.
• Acts as clinical advocate, educator, and liaison between patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Provides culturally competent education on diagnosis, treatment, side effects, and posttreatment care.
• Supports participation in therapeutic clinical trials and tracks care-pathway outcomes.
