Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Mental Health Treatment Coordinator (MHTC) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dedicated team in Dallas. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic care and coordinate care for patients, including triage during emergencies.

The role emphasizes leadership, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. This open continuous vacancy emphasizes professional development, BHIP integration, and potential for EDRP

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: English Language Proficiency.
In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f) - no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless proficient in basic written and spoken English.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by accreditation bodies (ACEN/CCNE).
Upon state licensure, appointment may be temporary and later converted.
Reference VA Qualification Standards and licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on holistic components.
Coordinate care for patients including triage and emergency situations.
Administer medications according to policy and collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers.
Promote BHIP implementation and function within the Mental Health setting.
Lead in evidence-based practices and provide mentorship to healthcare professionals.
