Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital is seeking a staff nurse for our 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit. The team delivers hands-on care for a wide range of adult patients, including orthopedic, general, bariatric, and cardiac/telemetry cases.

RN-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6 with PCTs at 1:6-9, enabling team-based patient care. Responsibilities include IV starts, wound care, blood transfusions, post‑op care, central line and tube management. Sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Georgia state RN licensure and BCLS certification; hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes.
• Coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
• Maintain standards of practice and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.

Join Our Dynamic Med-Surg Team at Piedmont Walton

Our 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. RN-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6 and PCTs from 1:6-9, allowing for meaningful, team-based patient care.

Team members gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post‑op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, making this a great opportunity for well‑rounded clinical growth and collaboration.

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
