Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital is seeking a skilled registered nurse for our 36-bed Med-Surg unit. Join a fast-paced, hands-on team providing care across a broad range of adult diagnoses, with generous RN-to-patient ratios and opportunities for growth.

The position features a 7 AM to 7 PM day shift and a sign-on bonus. Staff nurses coordinate care, enjoy collaboration with PCTs, and participate in procedures such as IV starts, wound care, and blood transfusions.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• RN license in Georgia required (or NLC/eNCL multistate license).
• BCLS certification required.
• Advanced certification in specialty area, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients across birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
• Maintain standards of practice and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.

Join Our Dynamic Med-Surg Team at Piedmont Walton
Our 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment caring for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. RN-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5-6 and PCTs from 1:6-9, allowing for meaningful, team-based patient care.

Team members gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, making this a great opportunity for well-rounded clinical growth and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Qualifications:Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
