Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for MedSurg on the night shift. You will provide nursing care to general adult patients, perform assessments, and collaborate with multiple disciplines to ensure quality outcomes.

The role supports ongoing professional development and utilizes state-of-the-art technology to strengthen patient care. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Georgia RN license or multistate licensure (NLC/eNCL).
• New graduates eligible for PRN; hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to general adult patients.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and formulate care plans.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, pharmacists, and therapy services.
• Document patient care in nursing records.

Med Surg 1 Unit Description - Piedmont Eastside

• Serving General Adult Patient Population- Heart Failure, blood clots, DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis), Elctrolight imbalance, Covid, flu, phenomnia, Sepsis patients, some Surgical overflow
• 23 bed, Acute Care with wide ranges of illnesses and injuries with various complexities
• Collaborate with Physicians, Pharmacists, Physical/Occupational/Speech and Respiratory Therapy
• Supported by Charge Nurse, PCT's, Unit Secretary (Day), Unit Based Educator and Clinical Manager

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial and health history.Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education.Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs and plan; ensures that the care provided is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment or disability.Communications issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager and/or physician as appropriate.Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.
