Job summary

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Float Medical Surgical/Acute Care Registered Nurse will provide and coordinate care for patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Daily responsibilities include assessments and reassessments, developing individualized plans of care, medication administration, documentation, education, proper maintenance of equipment, and communication of patient needs.

What you will do in this role:

• Perform patient rounding to maximize patient satisfaction and quality standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served as per Scope of Service.
• Promote customer service initiatives.
• Utilize the nursing process for individualized care to meet patients' needs.
• Demonstrate technical skills and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year med/surg experience.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or other acceptable Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Complete Med‑Surg certification within 1 year of hire.
