Job summary

Medical City McKinney's Medical-Surgical unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract, night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. The unit has 33 beds and cares for telemetry, pre- and post-operative patients, and those with cardiac, respiratory, and GI issues.

The RN will use Meditech for electronic records and access modern equipment like bladder scanners, vein finders, IV sonosite, and iMobile devices to support patient management and safe care.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Medical Surgical unit at Medical City McKinney is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse. This unit has 33 beds and provides care for various medical/surgical patients including telemetry, pre-post surgical patients, and those with cardiac, respiratory, and gastrointestinal issues. The registered nurse will utilize Meditech as the electronic medical records system and will have access to modern equipment including bladder scanners, vein finders, IV sonosite, and iMobile devices for communication and patient management.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Participate in teamwork and collaboration within the unit.
• Monitor and manage patient telemetry and vital signs.
• Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Meditech.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Required Experience

• Active Texas RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Certifications/Licensure

• Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
