Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, SC, seeks an experienced Medical Peer Review RN to coordinate and direct activities of the medical peer review process. You will work with the Medical Peer Review Committee and Medical Staff Services Director to ensure timely, multidisciplinary, confidential reviews in line with state and regulatory guidelines, and support OPPE/FPPE activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in accredited Registered Nursing Program; BSN required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years in an acute care setting, with comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of medical diagnoses, treatment modalities, therapeutic services, and intervention techniques.
• Current SC or compact state license.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates concurrent peer review with department manager and physician chair or designee.
• Prepares a summary report of concurrent review conclusions for presentation to MPRC.
• Coordinates with Medical Records for data retrieval for retrospective peer review.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of issues being reviewed for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Performs Level I Medical Peer Reviews and documents case review summaries.
• Facilitates referral of issues to physicians and departments for improvements.
• Coordinates with Medical Staff Services for flow of information to reach medical staff development.
• Collaborates with Medical Staff Coordinator to facilitate OPPE/FPPE.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
