PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Usual working space is a well-ventilated area. Requires standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, and lifting. Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work under stressful conditions is necessary. Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required, anything over 50 lbs should be a team lift or with the use of a lifting aid. Also subject to bloodborne pathogens at all times in patient care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for assessing and diagnosing nursing care needs for patients; for establishing the nursing outcomes (in collaboration with patient/family/significant other); then prescribing, delegating and supervising nursing care; for teaching each patient and evaluating each patient’s response to nursing care and progress toward outcomes and collaborating with physicians / providers and other clinical disciplines providing patient care to modify the plan of care as needed (in collaboration with patient/family/significant other).
• Assist manager in departmental budget planning, developing departmental policies and procedures and nursing standards of care.
