Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie is expanding its 5 East Med Surg/Telemetry unit and is seeking an experienced RN to help shape the new team. This inpatient, acute care setting will require strong clinical judgment and teamwork to deliver exceptional patient care on 12-hour night shifts.

You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to monitor and respond to evolving patient needs.

Position Highlights

Unit: 5 East – Med Surg/Telemetry

Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts

Setting: Inpatient Acute Care

Schedule: Full-Time, (3) shifts per week

About The Role

As an RN on our new 5 East unit, you will play a key role in shaping a collaborative, high-quality patient care environment from the ground up. This unit will care for a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry monitoring.

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
