Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the General Medical Surgical Unit with a night shift from 7pm to 7am. This fast-paced unit handles diverse medical problems in a 40-bed setting with a 5:1 patient ratio, offering self-scheduling with rotating weekends and a supportive team culture.

The role emphasizes growth and learning through classes (RQI, IV, CLABSI, CHARGE NURSE) and tuition reimbursement, with a focus on patient-centered care and ongoing

Qualifications

• RN license required or eligible to obtain.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, and adjust plans to reach outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, nurses and community members; document learning needs.
• Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly to ensure safety and quality care.

Facility: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Lakeway, TX

Department: General Medical Surgical Unit, Cardiac, Pulmonology, GI, Urology, General Surgery, some Post Op, Stroke, Dementia, Infectious Disease

Status: Full Time, 36 hrs. per week

Shift: Night Shift, (7pm-7am- self-scheduling with rotating weekends)

40 Beds

Patient Ratio: 5:1

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
