Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an experienced RN for the Med Surg IMU on nights at the Southwest campus. The role involves collaborative patient care, nursing assessments, and patient education to support high-quality outcomes.

The unit operates with a designated admit/discharge flow and a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio, requiring strong teamwork and adaptability across day and night shifts. A Texas RN license and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
• Certified in Basic Life Support; additional certifications may be required depending on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements
• RN experience levels: RN I <1 year; RN II 1-3 years; RN III 3-10 years; RN IV 10+ years

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care using the nursing process
• Provides professional nursing care including assessments, exams, treatment, patient education, and charting
• Supports a 24-bed Med Surg IMU with a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio and 7 days/week management coverage
• Assists with admitting and discharge planning; utilizes unit-based educator resources
