Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a Surgical Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the Surgical units in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. The ideal candidate will be BSN, current CA RN license, and BLS certification, with previous acute-care surgical experience and strong communication skills.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maintain and implement care plans for our vulnerable patients while upholding safety and quality standards.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

The Surgical registered nurse provides direct patient care, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to assigned patients in the Surgical units. The registered nurse is supportive, compassionate, efficient, detail-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal skills and who collaboratively maintains plan of care for the vulnerable patients.

Required Qualifications

What It Takes to be Successful

• All External Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Current California R.N. license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Previous experience as a Surgical RN in an acute care facility.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications
