Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking registered nurses for 6 to 12 week assignments across inter-hospital facilities. Work shifts vary and may include nights, weekends, and holidays to meet patient needs.

This non-union position includes a $1,200 per month travel stipend, a full benefits package, and a schedule that adapts to unit requirements. Candidates should hold an unencumbered RN license, a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and a minimum of one

Qualifications

  • Graduate from NLN or AACN accredited program preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of one year nursing experience preferred.
  • Active RN license in state of practice.
  • Certifications such as BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC/NRP may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with physicians and inter-professional colleagues to plan and evaluate care.
  • Demonstrate competency within the full scope of nursing practice.
  • Care for patients across preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Plan and coordinate care, patient assessment, education, triage, and nursing interventions.
  • Work within Nurse Practice Act and state regulatory standards.
  • Schedule may include overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Description
  • Responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
  • Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
  • Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
  • Cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care.
  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
  • Functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure.
  • The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
  • Scheduled work hours will vary dependent on patient and unit needs. This may include overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications

Graduate from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. A minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications, for example but not limited to: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as determined by assignment. Refer to Enterprise Central Resource Pool Clinical Pathway and orientation guidelines for further detail.
