Job summary

Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique, MI is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide care across Med/Surg and ED units. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, use EMR for care planning and documentation, and support patient advocacy throughout the care continuum.

The role requires current Michigan RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and TNCC within one year of hire; ENPC/NRP recommended.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• RN with a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Michigan.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS, TNCC certified within one year of hire. NRP and ENPC recommended.
• Experience working in Medical‑Surgical and ED areas preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in documenting in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Complete understanding and compliance with all HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient systematically utilizing nursing skills to establish a basis for patient care.
• Uses EMR for all aspects of patient care including medication reconciliation and documentation; perform end-of-shift reviews.
• Coordinate referrals through the Charge Nurse with physicians, outside agencies and other departments.
• Maintain communication with patient, family, and health care team; act as patient advocate.
• Demonstrate leadership by coordinating staff and patient activities; delegate and provide feedback.
• Participate in committees for quality improvement and departmental goals; contribute to staff education.
• Attend mandatory in-services and meetings; stay informed on department and organizational changes.
• Keep up-to-date with EMR usage and on-call procedures; follow chain of command.
