Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical units in Iowa. The role provides comprehensive nursing care to adult inpatients, administers medications, monitors status, and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team.

The nurse will supervise support staff, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning. Licensure in-state and BLS certification are required, with a preference for prior Med-Surg or acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Medical Surgical or acute care nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform admission, shift and ongoing assessments for assigned medical and surgical patients.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including wound care and drain management.
• Monitor for changes in patient condition and elevate to the provider promptly.
• Delegate appropriately to and supervise nursing assistants and support staff.
• Provide patient and family education and participate in discharge planning.
