Job summary

Qualifications

• Current CA RN licensure required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS certification within 90 days of hire if candidate does not currently have.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated.
• Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
• Reports abnormal diagnostic data to physician/shift coordinator/supervisor as appropriate.
• Demonstrates ability to perform technical nursing procedures/skills of patient care competently, seeking assistance when appropriate.
• Implements patient histories, assesses patients' conditions, and develops individualized care plans for assigned patients. Documents on care plans as patient care evolves, including resolution of problems.
• Assesses patient educational needs and barriers to learning. Implements multidisciplinary patient education care plan and documents patient teaching.
• Administers and controls narcotics and medications accurately and in a timely manner. Signs out narcotics as per hospital policy.
