Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Registered Nurse for PRN coverage in the Women’s Services – Mom & Baby unit. The role involves care for mothers, newborns, and gynecologic post-procedure patients in a busy academic health system.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, delivering evidence-based nursing, fostering patient-family education, and contributing to shared governance and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current South Carolina RN license or Compact State RN license.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care using the nursing process.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide health education that empowers patients and families.
• Prioritize patient safety while maintaining a therapeutic and healing environment.
• Lead and collaborate with nursing team members to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
• Participate in shared governance, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, and clinical excellence daily.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Current South Carolina Registered Nurse license or Compact State RN license

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
