Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing/health care or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Florida RN license or multi-state license.
  • Minimum five years' experience with compliance and risk.
  • Minimum one year of management/supervisory experience.
  • Strong business, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Hospice Standards and NP safety goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for federal, Joint Commission, state and local hospice and home health laws.
  • Manage compliance activities and implement organizational practices.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to integrate compliance and performance improvement.
  • Oversee Auditors and prepare monitoring/auditing reports for Senior Director of Compliance.
  • Ensure findings are addressed and policies updated accordingly.
  • Coordinate audits and investigations of potential violations.
  • Respond to regulatory requests from agencies and payors.
  • Provide information on risk management and regulatory issues.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing/health care or related field, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education; Master’s Degree in healthcare field preferred
  • Current Florida license as RN, current active single-state out-of-state nurse license, or current active multistate/compact nurse license
  • HCCA Certification preferred or within one year of taking position
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience utilizing knowledge of compliance and risk
  • Minimum of one (1) year of management/supervisory experience
  • Strong business foundation with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated skills in fiscal management, utilization of analytical and statistical tools, data analysis, and outcomes management
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations
  • Knowledgeable in Joint Commission Hospice Standards and the National Patient Safety Goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English)
  • Skilled in management of group dynamics and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply process improvement theory and process mapping
  • Computer knowledgeable and competent with statistical applications and graphics

  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide direction for appropriate education and monitoring of and by the compliance staff regarding their own and the organization's responsibilities for regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for all current Federal, Joint Commission, state and local laws pertaining to hospice and home health, as well as other lines of business. Provides consultation and acts as a resource to staff regarding regulations.
  • Manages compliance activities to meet requirements and implements approved organizational practices as appropriate.
  • Works with other department leaders and staff to integrate compliance, performance improvement, and pertinent Joint Commission activities for the Organization.
  • Manages the Clinical, Technical and Admission Auditors in their day-to-day responsibilities and prepares compliance monitoring/auditing reports for the Senior Director of Compliance.
  • Ensures compliance findings are addressed and works with internal directors/managers to coordinate the development/revision and implementation of Company policies and guidelines.
  • Manages the Corporate Compliance Hotline and reporting system for occurrence reports; reviews reports resulting from such information; and makes recommendations for improvement based on information.
  • Coordinates audits and investigations of potential violations of law or Company policy under the direction of Senior Director of Compliance.
  • Coordinates timely response to requests from MAC, SMRC, Medicaid, Third Party payors, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Provides information to the Senior Director of Compliance on the implementation and management of risk management/legal issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation Pay Range: $85,270.05 - $133,234.45This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.All Chapters Health System employees performing services for Florida affiliates are submitted through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse to verify eligibility after a conditional offer of employment is made as well as ongoing eligibility.
