Job summary

Central-Nursing is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Unit Manager to join our skilled nursing team. The Unit Manager assists the Director of Nursing in developing and directing the nursing unit, ensuring quality care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, and adheres to facility policies to maintain the highest level of care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing is required.
  • Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
  • At least 1 year of Supervisory Experience.
  • Experience in Long Term Care.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor licensed and unlicensed nursing staff in delivering quality care to each resident.
  • Ensure that nursing staff follows policy and procedures, including dress code.
  • Attend and participate in morning clinical review meeting.
  • Review 24-hour resident change in condition reports and communicate changes to DON.
  • Review resident medical records to ensure programs meet policy and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Educator on staff educational needs.
  • Ensure documentation is completed per state and federal rules.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and report violations.
  • Assist DON/ADON with performance evaluations.
  • Greet admissions and assist with admission process.
  • Ensure admission documentation is complete in a timely manner.
  • Monitor medication distributions and treatments as ordered.
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary.

Job description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Unit Manager to join our skilled nursing team! Our facility features a fast paced sub-acute and long term care units. The primary role of the Unit Manager is to assist the Director of Nursing/ADON in developing and directing the functions of the given Nursing Unit in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, as well as adhering to the policies and regulations of the facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is delivered at all times.

Responsibilities for an RN / LPN Unit Manager
  • Monitor licensed and unlicensed nursing staff in delivering quality care to each resident
  • Ensure that nursing staff follows policy and procedures, including appropriate dress code
  • Attend and participate in morning clinical review meeting
  • Review 24- hour resident change in condition report daily and correspond with DON on changes in treatments as necessary
  • Review resident medical records and documentation to ensure clinical programs are in place per policy and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Educator on programs which meet the educational needs of staff
  • Ensure required documentation is completed for every shift in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations on unit, reporting any known violations to the Administrator and DON
  • Assist the DON/ADON with preparing performance evaluations as directed.
  • Greet new admissions and families and assist nursing staff with admission process as needed
  • Ensure that all admission documentation is complete in a timely manner
  • Monitor medication distributions and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary
