Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to provide pediatric homecare nursing in clients' homes across New Jersey. You will deliver skilled care per plan of care and under physician orders, ensuring high-quality, compassionate service.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, documentation, and coordination with families and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN or LPN license in NJ.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Position Summary

The RN/LPN provides skilled nursing services in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, professional nursing standards, and the Nurse Practice Act.

All nursing care is provided according to the client’s individualized plan of care and orders from an authorized medical practitioner, including an MD, DO, NP, PA, or other qualified provider.

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

What You’ll Do

• Provide professional nursing care within the scope of the applicable Nurse Practice Act.
• Follow physician or other authorized practitioner orders and the client’s individualized plan of care.
• Maintain accurate and current client orders and document changes in the medical record according to Agency procedures.
• Monitor client condition and promptly communicate significant findings or changes.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Provide client and caregiver education as appropriate.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and changes in client condition.
• Provide personal care and other nursing services within the assigned scope of practice.
• Provide specialized pediatric nursing care when required, including:
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilator management
  • Enteral and tube feedings
• Collaborate with families, physicians, caregivers, and other members of the client’s healthcare team.
• Promote a safe environment for clients, families, and coworkers.
• Follow Agency policies and procedures as well as applicable payer, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in care coordination and Agency meetings as requested.
• Perform other related duties necessary to support safe and effective client care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN or LPN license in the state where services are provided.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance meeting applicable state and/or Agency requirements.
