Job summary

Gallup Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) for a part-time night shift to provide dedicated resident care and supervise night nursing staff.

The RN/LPN will develop care plans, coordinate with physicians and therapists, and monitor safety in accordance with standards and policies. The Charge Nurse role may be involved to ensure patient needs are met and quality care is maintained.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN license in practicing state.
• BLS/CPR certification required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedure for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents changes in patient conditions including nutrition, infections, skin issues, weight loss or other changes.
• Uses Quality Life Manual for patient identification, placement, and monitoring in programs.
• Notifies applicable departments of patient room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. The RN will also monitor assigned staff to ensure that all safety regulations are upheld.

Charge Nurse (RN or LPN) will provide nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies as well as state, federal and local guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current LVN/LPN or RN license in practicing state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to acquire one.
• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Documents any change in patient’s conditions including but not limited to nutritional problems, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or any other noticeable changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Document and notify applicable departments of any patient’s room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.
