Emerald Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to supervise daily nursing activities in a long-term care setting, ensuring safety and quality of care. The role includes medication administration, charting, and coordination with physicians and families.

Responsibilities include directing Nursing Assistants, discharge planning support, incident reporting, and participating in in-service training.

Qualifications

  • MUST hold a current and valid RN/LPN license in the state employed.
  • Long term care/post-acute care setting preferred.
  • Completion of postsecondary education.
  • Capable of maintaining regular attendance (weekends/overtime) as required.

  • Complete accident/incident reports.
  • Chart nurses’ notes reflecting care provided and resident responses.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure narcotics are handled per regulations and maintain accurate narcotic records.
  • Make daily rounds to monitor nursing service performance.
  • Notify attending physicians/next-of-kin on changes or incidents.
  • Attend in-service programs as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care center
  • Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the residents’ discharge plans as required
  • Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
  • Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the residents, as well as the residents’ responses to the care
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy
  • Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary and in accordance with established policies
  • Ensure that narcotics are handled in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy and that narcotic records are accurate for your shift
  • Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure that nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards
  • Notify the residents’ attending physicians and next-of-kin when there is a change in the residents’ conditions or if the residents are involved in an incident or accident
  • Attend and participate in all center in-service programs as required
