Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing required.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience in ICU is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead care coordination and delegation for patients.
• Explain procedures to patients and families.
• Collaborate with team members for excellent patient outcomes.

• Monitor patient conditions and engage with families as needed.
• Ensure compliance with infection control requirements.

Your job is more than a job. While weekends and holidays are yours, cath lab nursing requires on‑call duty when needed. This role demands responsiveness, expertise, and empathy to provide critical cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead: prioritize, coordinate, and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Explain procedures to patients and families as appropriate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and work alongside physicians to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.
• Execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
• Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• ICU experience.

Preferred:

• BSN preferred.
• Experience in an acute care hospital.
