Job summary

St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster, CO seeks an experienced RN Lactation Consultant to assess and manage breastfeeding mothers and babies, including those with concerns, using independent clinical judgment.

You will provide direct patient care, mentor new associates on breastfeeding techniques, and develop education for clients and staff, applying lactation expertise and adult learning principles in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (required).
• Three years of nursing experience.
• RN license active (or valid RN license from participating state in the NLC).
• IBLCS or CLC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess lactating patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs, evaluate response and intervene to ensure outcomes.
• Manage lactation issues for inpatients (OB, NICU, PEDS) and outpatients as needed.
• Develop and update policies, procedures, standards of care, and guidelines for breastfeeding support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to implement holistic, individualized care plans and observe outcomes.
• Support and educate colleagues to improve overall breastfeeding care standards.
• Document assessments, outcomes, and plans of care.
