Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery and Postpartum Care Unit to deliver compassionate, patient‑centered care across admission, labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages.

The 22‑bed unit includes 10 L&D/Triage rooms and a 12‑bed Post Partum area with a 20‑room nursery. You will work in a supportive team focused on growth, excellence, and positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN-Associate’s Degree (required)
• RN-Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
• RN-Diploma or equivalent program
• RN-Master’s Degree preferred and BSN/MSN encouraged

Responsibilities

• Provide patient‑centered nursing care in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units.
• Apply nursing process per standards of practice, including assessment, planning, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with OB/GYN and support teams to ensure safe, high‑quality care.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and postpartum recovery.
• Assist in deliveries, triage, and post‑partum care as part of a Magnet‑designated unit.
