Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse to lead care for mothers and newborns, coordinating and advocating for safe, high‑quality outcomes, with a up to $15K sign‑on bonus.

You’ll monitor labor, birth and postpartum care, support families, and collaborate with the care team to ensure the best possible outcomes. You must hold Louisiana nursing licensure and BLS, NRP, and NALS, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• NRP certification (within 6 mos.)
• NALS certification (within 6 mos.)
• Preferred: BSN
• NCC certification
• 1 year in a related clinical area

Responsibilities

• Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for delivery and post‑partum care.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure mom/baby care.
• Maintain a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families, and care team on significant events or questions.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
• Ensure continuity of care, throughput, and exceptional patient/family experience.
• Advise supervisor if unable to complete assignments promptly or safely.
• Initiate patient/family education using resources and continuum of care services.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.

Your Everyday

Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patient’s delivery and post‑partum care.

Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.

Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.

Prevent and treat wounds.

Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.

Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient and their families.

Advise and consult with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.

Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.

Contribute to the team by assistingothers without being asked.

The Must-Haves

Minimum
