Job summary

Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Labor and Delivery unit on a full-time basis. The RN will apply the nursing process, interact with patients and teams, and provide care across the mother-baby population.

Requirements include graduation from an approved RN program, Louisiana RN licensure, BLS, NRP, ACLS, and ongoing fetal monitoring education. BSN preferred; opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of state approved RN School of Nursing.
• Currently, seeking experienced Nurses.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a complete nursing assessment focused on mother-baby dyad and transition to parenthood, creating an individualized plan of care.
• Assess maternal, newborn, pediatric, gynecologic patient and family health needs and responses.
• Provide patient-centered care addressing physical, spiritual, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and educational needs.
• Recognize high-risk obstetrical conditions and emergencies to respond promptly.
• Administer high-risk medications per protocols to obstetrical patients.
• Support breastfeeding through education and assistance; refer to post-discharge resources.
